Mediaspectrum Announces Major Updates To Its Content Management Platform For Publishers

Jun 17, 2009 — Boston, MA - Mediaspectrum, Inc.® today announced the availability of ContentWatch 2.0, the premier Web-based editorial content management solution for media companies. ContentWatch 2.0 provides an unmatched platform for massive consolidation while greatly expanding a publisher's ability to create, manage and publish both print and digital content to multiple channels. Mediaspectrum has distinguished itself in the industry by creating the only 100% pure Web services solution for all types of content production. The latest version of ContentWatch, released today, further increases the platform's value to multi-channel publishers.

ContentWatch 2.0 now features semantic search capability for users to explore content in multiple repositories, including production, archive and third party electronic files (such as those found with imaging partners). Its new IBM Websphere integration provides the added support of a proven, secure and flexible environment to run ContentWatch 2.0's mission critical solutions. Additional major enhancements, all of which promote superior flexibility and management for users, include:

  • Kindle DX support, enabling publishers to realize new revenue through direct sales to Amazon's Kindle DX reader.
  • Improved content libraries, permitting various groups to define multiple libraries while fully distinguishing the user, content and workflow.
  • XML-based scripting language, providing increased flexibility and automation by allowing customers to define their own workflow.
  • Enhanced ad management, allowing users with appropriate permissions to move ads between pages outside of InDesign.
"Since its initial launch in 2006, ContentWatch has been received with tremendous approval and success," said Scott Killoh, CEO of Mediaspectrum. "Today's new ContentWatch is poised to even more effectively handle the multi-media, multi-channel needs of today's publishing world, where the centralization of disparate systems has become such a critical focus. Our platform is a leap forward in the industry, thanks in large part to our customers, who have served as true partners in its evolution - working alongside Mediaspectrum to provide the insight and feedback we have directly leveraged into this next generation consolidation engine for content management."

"We implemented ContentWatch in June 2007 with a speedy deployment, immediate ease-of-use, and - best of all - the ability to adapt more quickly at a time when the nature of the publishing business is changing beneath our feet," said Chris Cleaveland, IT Operations Manager at The Day Publishing Company, New London, CT. "For us, ContentWatch has been a home run when it comes to creating efficiencies, cutting costs and changing the way we deliver the news. We expect the new features in ContentWatch 2.0 will allow our business to create, manage and publish news even more seamlessly - driving better efficiencies and cost savings throughout The Day."
